Description
During the autumn rutting season, often the more majestic Red Deer gets most of the attention. The Fallow is overlooked with their smaller frame and much less impressive call. They are equally interesting to observe in my opinion and attractive to photograph. I noticed over the height of the rut, this particular spot was occupied with a couple of bucks. The early morning light coming through the oak leaves and the bracken below conveys the season well. The icing on the cake is capturing the breath from its call in the freezing morning air.
